In the current era of globalization, every university competes to increase its rank at both national and international level (world ranking class). To achieve a high ranking, universities must meet various criteria. THES (Times Higher Education Supplement) for example, uses four criteria to measure university rankings at the world level, namely the quality of research, graduate employability, international outlook, and teaching quality ).
UNDIP as one of the most respected universities in Indonesia with its vision of “ becoming an excellent research university in 2020 or World Class University ” has worked hard to improve its world ranking, including upgrading websites, increasing the number of budgets for research, improving the quality of human resources (PhD), and opening international programs. Currently, Diponegoro University (UNDIP) has several international programs, including dual degrees with foreign universities (several universities in France and the Netherlands) conducted by the Faculty of Medicine and the Faculty of Engineering and the Dharmasiswa Program for BIPA (Indonesian language for foreigners) at the Faculty of Humanities ( FIB). Regarding the vision of Undip to become a World Class University in 2020, the existence of international programs is very important to accelerate the process towards world class university. One of the leading activities of the Faculty of Humanities is the “Summer Course Program”. This program is designed to bring international students to know the culture and get involved in several events that have been designed. The program which is planned to last for 2 weeks will involve all departments in the Faculty of Humanities, Diponegoro University. A beautiful environment with cultural diversity is expected to provide added value to the success of this summer course program.
